Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is launching a brand-new transport operation in Wednesbury. We are seeking a proactive Transport First Line Manager to lead a start-up team, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing delivery operations, while building a positive, engaging workplace culture.

You will manage day-to-day activities, coach staff, and drive performance improvements in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role offers a clear path to development within a growing DHL operation.

Qualifications

• Experience at First Line Manager, Team Leader or Supervisor level in transport.
• Strong understanding of driving rules and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Transport team to deliver a safe, engaged and high-performing operation.
• Ensure transport activities are completed safely, legally and in line with SLA and KPI.
• Manage day-to-day transport operations, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
• Act as the first point of contact for driver and colleague queries, supporting attendance, performance and wellbeing.
• Drive colleague engagement through EOS action plans and driver forums.
• Maintain compliance across transport systems and safety standards.
• Deliver team performance reviews and development planning.
• Collaborate with the wider management team to promote a unified, high-performance culture.
