Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Hatfield is seeking a Transport First Line Manager to lead daily transport operations, ensuring safe, legal and efficient execution in line with SLAs and KPIs. You will manage driver and fleet compliance, coach team members, handle absence and performance issues, and support cost efficiency initiatives while upholding the highest safety standards.

Experience in transport, strong communication, IT literacy (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and the ability to lead from the front are

• Demonstrate excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Good degree of IT literacy including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Can lead from the front, winning hearts and minds and providing coaching and mentorship.
• Have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations supporting the SLA's / KPI's.
• Accountable for driver and fleet compliance in line with legal and DHL standards.
• Be the point of escalation for day to day operational issues management and resolution for transport.
• Responsible for delivering a safe, efficient & effective workplace and the driver teams.
• Day to day management of colleagues within the team including absence and escalation where needed.
• Responsible for EOS within the team, creating, driving and managing action plans.
• Manage absence, disciplinary and grievance in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures.

Pay Rate: £36,000 - £38,000 Grade: N Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Tuesday to Saturday, 40 hours per week, 6am to 2pm Location: Hatfield Think you know DHL? Think again! We're now looking for a Transport First Line Manager to take the helm of our daily transport operations!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Accountable for safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations supporting the SLA's / KPI's
• Accountable for driver and fleet compliance in line with legal and DHL standards
• Be the point of escalation for day to day operational issues management and resolution for transport
• Responsible for delivering a safe, efficient & effective workplace and the driver teams
• Day to day management of colleagues within the team including absence (annual leave & sickness) and ensuring esculation of cases when appropriate to the Transport Opertaions Manager
• Responsible for EOS within the team, creating, driving and managing associated action plans
• Responsible for ensuring system compliance i.e. Logics, DPM and transport systems
• Support delivery of Driver cost efficiencies within the transport operation
• Support with the management of operational costs and identification of cost performance trends - i.e. fuel performance / accidents etc
• Support the Transport Operations Manager in identifying and implementing cost efficiency projects / continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage absence, disciplinary and grievance in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures
• To schedule, prepare and conduct quarterly 1-2-1's with all direct reports in line with OMS guidelines
• Ensure Safety: Uphold the highest safety standards and compliance regulations, creating a safe and secure workplace for everyone.
