Job summary

EMBS Group is seeking a Workshop Engineer for their Nottingham workshop to diagnose, repair and test electronic and electromechanical hardware used in public transport systems. The role splits time between bench repair and occasional on-site installations at depots and stops.

You will be responsible for PCB repairs, component-level troubleshooting, soldering, and using diagnostic equipment, with training provided and travel requirements across the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment to component level.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and refurbish electronic hardware to component level.
• Solder, desolder and rework PCBs (through-hole and SMD).
• Repair electromechanical faults including ticket printer mechanisms.
• Use diagnostic tools and documentation to locate faults and verify repairs.
• Configure equipment and load software; perform functional testing before service.
