Job summary

London Transport Organisation seeks skilled electronics technicians to join a small workshop team. You will repair automotive electronic products and tools, performing component and chip replacements and circuit board repairs, testing and building to high standards.

The role requires soldering and fault-finding with testing equipment, plus independent work with good manual dexterity. IPC-610/J-STD-001 knowledge is a plus, and field-based support may be required.

Qualifications

• Electronics/PCB testing experience with soldering and fault-finding.
• Proficient with hand tools and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 is advantageous.
• Independent, eager to learn and capable of working alone.
• Nice to have: PCV/PSV or HGV fault finding/diagnosis and 3D modelling knowledge.

• Perform ultra-cleaning to meet required standards.
• Provide occasional field-based technical support to the team.

Job description

We’re on the lookout for candidates with electronics/PCB testing experience to join one of London’s leading organisations within public transport, critical to ensuring the safe and reliable commute of thousands of the capital’s workforce.

You’ll be working in a small workshop team alongside other technicians and the service manager; a relatively new team which has already saved the company millions in repair. You’ll repair numerous types of automotive electronic products and tools, often required to complete component and /or chip replacement and circuit board repair, test and build. Some of the role will also involve ultra-cleaning to get parts back to required standards, as well as occasional field based technical support.

Technical Expectations: Soldering and rework at board/component level, fault-finding with testing equipment, effective component identification

What are we looking for?

• Previous electronics/PCB testing experience with a technical proficiency in soldering, fault-finding and use of hand tools (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, generators etc
• IPC-610 and J-STD-001 Certified/Qualified would be nice or have knowledge of
• Personality: Eager to learn, good manual dexterity, and able to work independently
• Nice to have: PCV/PSV or HGV Fault finding/diagnosis experience and 3D Modelling understanding
