A local government authority in Winchester is seeking a part-time Transport Department Receptionist to provide a support service for various stakeholders. Salary: Scale 3, starting salary £25242.00 per annum - PRO-RATA [part-time]: £14,326.54 per annum

Hours: Part-time role: 21 hours per week

Contract: Temporary for 18 months

Closing date: Sunday 4th January 2026 at 23:59 hours

Job Purpose

You will assist with the provision of an efficient and effective Reception service for staff, visitors and contractors and you will be able to provide a range of business/ administrative services in support of the Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Respond appropriately to telephone enquiries, ensuring that calls are re‑directed if necessary.
  • Raise orders/job cards on computerised fleet management system and book vehicles in for repair with approved contractors.
  • Undertake general administration tasks as demand / resilience requires.
  • Arrange for the collection and departure of visitors as required.
  • Where appropriate, to arrange escorts for visitors.

Short Description

You will be based at one of our Winchester Workshop, however you must be prepared to travel to different sites across Hampshire Constabulary.

You may also be asked to move police vehicles around the workshops and car parks as required, therefore a full UK licence to drive manual vehicles is required.

Essential Qualifications
