Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield on a full-time, permanent basis.

Salary: £26,580 per annum, plus £2,000 shift allowance, plus £1,000 night allowance.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6pm-6am.

The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTF and driver’s hours’ legislation.

Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:

• Creating and updating daily run summaries to meet delivery and collection deadlines.
• Ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained in collaboration with other departments.
• Planning runs using the driver rota, considering shift patterns, holidays, and sickness.
• Ensuring legal compliance regarding defects, services, MOTs, etc.
• Maintaining clear communication with drivers regarding start times, load info, directions, and additional shifts.
• Adhering to all statutory, legal, and health and safety requirements and policies.
• Assisting with disciplinary processes, return-to-work meetings, and other HR procedures to maintain standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven knowledge of tachograph and driving regulations.
• Experience in transport within an FMCG environment is desirable.
• Strong planning and organizational skills to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Management or supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills for accurate information delivery.
• Proficiency in MS Office and strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers’ hours regulations.
• CPC National qualification is desirable but not essential.
