As a Transport Coordinator, you'll play a key role at the center of our operation, where every action you take contributes to our customers enjoying their favourite M&S food.

Our operation in Lenziemill, Cumbernauld, is looking for candidates who can commit to an any 5 from 7 working pattern, working 14:00-22:00 with occasional cover of 06:00-14:00 when required.

What will you do & what will you need

As part of your role, you will brief and debrief Drivers, being the first point of contact for all drivers and ensuring all queries are fed back. You will be accountable for legal o-license compliance and for operational excellence, including cost and service, peak planning/delivery, and finding resolutions/escalations for live issues. You will monitor all routes to ensure they are on time and escalate to the Team Manager on shift where appropriate. Effective time management is essential to complete tasks within set time frames, using Kronos exceptions & schedules. You will also conduct daily administrative tasks related to payroll systems, payroll queries, holidays, etc.

Ideally, you will have experience in administration within a busy transport environment, be PC literate with Word and Excel experience, and have great attention to detail.

Gist Cumbernauld is one of our original distribution centres, opened in 1971 to service the M&S Food contract. We have adopted innovative technologies to ensure our customers get the most out of their supply chain. Operating two daily cycles, we receive both chilled and ambient M&S Food products from suppliers, sort and pick products for each M&S Food store serviced by the depot, and deliver within a 15-minute window. The depot also operates as a cross-docking hub for frozen and temperature-controlled logistics. Peak periods include Mother’s Day, Easter, Christmas, and M&S promotional events and product launches throughout the year.
