This role is responsible for the efficient and safe running of the day-to-day transport operation with a direct focus on Pallet Distribution and Full Load distribution. This role reports directly to the Transport Team Leader – System Load.
The role is directly responsible for ensuring that deliveries via the Pallet Track Network are executed to a high standard, in-line with our Networks KPI Obligations. Additionally, the role ensures that our daily Full Load business runs smoothly, and the fleet is optimised.
The Transport Controller will also oversee the Driving Team, ensuring duties are conducted correctly in line with Planning expectations. This includes addressing under-performance, using management tools to identify concerns, and working with management and drivers to resolve issues. The role also emphasizes compliance concerning driver hours, vehicle defects, and infringements to ensure adherence to local regulations. Support for these activities will be provided by the Management Team and the System Distribution/System Load Team Leader, with particular focus from the National Compliance Manager.
This role requires the ability to contribute to the smooth operation with minimal support after training, and to use data and trends for continuous process improvements. Customer service is also key, ensuring quality and service are maintained while seeking efficiencies, with support from the Management Team.
