Job summary

Pertemps Southampton is recruiting a Transport Co-Ordinator to support daily transport operations from Totton. You will manage driver resourcing, performance and compliance, and maintain accurate transport records.

You will coordinate vehicle inspections, ensure Drivers Hours compliance, use TMS and SAPHR systems, support budgeting and incident reporting, and deputise for the Cluster Transport Manager when required.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics, administration or purchasing.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Experience with digital systems and data.
• Knowledge of KPI-based performance management.
• Understanding of Operator Licence and drivers' hours regulations.
• Safety and continuous improvement focus.
• CPC/ADR/IOSH qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cluster Transport Manager with day-to-day transport operations.
• Support driver resourcing and weekly driver requests.
• Manage daily driver debriefs, addressing performance, compliance and safety issues.
• Monitor driver hours, licences and training for compliance.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing and MOTs; arrange replacements.
• Maintain transport systems (TMS, tachograph, SAPHR) and records.
• Support purchasing, goods receipts, invoices and budget monitoring.
• Contribute to SHEQ and continuous improvement projects.
• Deputise for the Cluster Transport Manager when required.

Location:Totton

Salary: £19.01ph PAYE

Mon to Fri

Shift Times: 27.5 hours per week

About the Role

Pertemps are looking for an experienced and organisedTransport Coordinatorto support the day-to-day running of transport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Cluster Transport Manager with the day-to-day management of transport operations.
• Support driver resourcing and the weekly driver request process.
• Manage daily driver debriefs, addressing performance, compliance and safety issues.
• Monitor driver hours, licences and training to ensure legal and company compliance.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing and MOTs, arranging replacements where required.
• Maintain accurate transport and administrative systems, including TMS, tachograph, fuel, training and SAPHR systems.
• Support purchasing, goods receipting, invoice queries and budget monitoring across the cluster.
• Contribute to SHEQ activities, incident reporting and continuous improvement projects.
• Deputise for the Cluster Transport Manager when required.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience intransport, logistics, administration or purchasing, preferably within an industrial environment.
• Strong communication, influencing and employee relations skills.
• Experience working with digital systems and data.
• Knowledge of KPI-based performance management.
• An understanding of Operator Licence requirements, Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive requirements.
• A strong focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
• CPC, ADR, IOSH or experience within industrial gases would be advantageous.
