Job summary

Bidcorp UK is seeking a Transport Administrator to act as the main contact for transport issues and perform essential administrative duties to support depot governance and customer service.

The role requires strong organisational and IT skills, attention to detail, and effective communication by phone and email with internal teams and TLC customers. It is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Carry out administrative and reporting duties to help the depot meet its legislative and corporate governance requirements.
  • Handle calls/emails to provide administrative support and escalate issues to the Transport Manager when needed.
  • Utilise data input using the appropriate electronic systems.
  • Manage storage of records (physical and electronic) for easy retrieval.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication and information distribution.
  • Collate data for system tools to add value (eg Microlise).
  • Support transport supervisors/managers in tasks that keep the transport department running smoothly.
  • Be aware of TLC customers and manage them throughout delivery or order processes to improve service quality.
  • Action and manage administrative duties (e.g. Welcome Pack) to ensure customers receive appropriate care.

Job description

Transport Administrator

To provide the primary point of contact for all transport issues arising and carry out administrative duties in order to help the depot meets its administrative responsibilities and provide a professional customer service.

Accountabilities – may include but not limited to:
  • Carry out administrative and reporting duties to help the depot meet its legislative and corporate governance requirements 2
  • Effective handling of calls/emails to provide administrative support within agreed parameters or to $ escalated issues outside these parameters to the Transport Manager
  • Utilise data input using the appropriate electronic systems
  • Manage the effective storage of records, physical of electronic to ensure efficient location of records
  • Liaise with the other departments to ensure effective communication and distribution of information to support the achievement of depot targets
  • Manage the collation of data in respect of any system tools to add value department, eg Microlise
  • Support transport supervisors/manager in any tasks that are necessary to support the effective running of the transport department
  • To be aware of the current list of TLC customers and ensure that they are managed effectively throughout the delivery or order process in order to improve the quality of service to these customers
  • To action and manage administrative duties as directed (e.g. Welcome Pack process) in order to ensure customers receive the necessary level of care

  • All service level agreements are met and agreed processes are complied with

  • Offering an appropriate resolution within set parameters and consultation where appropriate or escalating issues as appropriate

Requirements for qualifications, specialist knowledge, skills or key behaviours the jobholder will need to demonstrate to do the job effectively.

  • Organisational skills
  • Experience and understanding of the food distribution market place
  • Experience and understanding of the transport industry preferred
  • Experienced in minor vehicle repairs preferred
  • Commercial awareness
  • Competent in the use of I.T. eg Outlook, Word and Excel)
