Job summary

Bidfood UK is seeking a Transport Administrator to be the main contact for transport issues and to perform essential admin duties supporting depot operations.

You will handle calls and emails, input data into electronic systems, manage records, and coordinate with other departments to meet targets, while supporting the Transport Manager in daily tasks and ensuring customer care throughout the delivery process.

Qualifications

  • Organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience and understanding of the food distribution market.
  • Experience and understanding of the transport industry preferred.
  • Proficient with IT tools: Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication by telephone and email; attention to detail.
  • Conscientious and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and reporting to meet governance requirements.
  • Handle calls and emails to support transport admin; escalate as needed.
  • Input data using company electronic systems.
  • Manage storage of physical and electronic records.
  • Coordinate with other departments to share information and meet targets.
  • Support transport supervisors/managers in daily tasks.
  • Ensure TLC customers are managed throughout delivery/order process.
  • Manage Welcome Pack and other admin duties for customers.

About the role

Transport Administrator

To provide the primary point of contact for all transport issues arising and carry out administrative duties in order to help the depot meets its administrative responsibilities and provide a professional customer service.

Accountabilities – may include but not limited to:
  • Carry out administrative and reporting duties to help the depot meet its legislative and corporate governance requirements 2
  • Effective handling of calls/emails to provide administrative support within agreed parameters or to escalation issues outside these parameters to the Transport Manager
  • Utilise data input using the appropriate electronic systems
  • Manage the effective storage of records, physical or electronic to ensure efficient location of records
  • Liaise with the other departments to ensure effective communication and distribution of information to support the achievement of depot targets
  • Manage the collation of data in respect of any system tools to add value department, eg Microlise
  • Support transport supervisors/manager in any tasks that are necessary to support the effective running of the transport department
  • To be aware of the current list of TLC customers and ensure that they are managed effectively throughout the delivery or order process in order to improve the quality of service to these customers
  • To action and manage administrative duties as directed (e.g. Welcome Pack process) in order to ensure customers receive the necessary level of care
