Job summary

East Kent Colleges Group invites applications for a Transition Manager to lead the Bridging Futures Transition and Attendance Programme for 16-19 learners. You will design, implement and evaluate a structured transition model, overseeing multiple sites and a team of Transition Mentors.

Job description

Support Students, Unlock Potential, Empower Success - Join us as a Transition Manager As a Transition Manager you will lead the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the Bridging Futures Transition and Attendance Programme. You will provide operational leadership for a structured, evidence-informed transition model supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged 16-19 learners at risk of disengagement or becoming NEET. As a Transition Manager you will oversee cross-college delivery, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, lead a team of Transition Mentors, ensure programme fidelity, and work closely with evaluators to support robust pre-pilot development and scalability across EKC Group and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for young people and making a real difference to their transition into further education. You will be confident leading change, bringing people together and turning ideas into effective, sustainable programmes that benefit learners across the College.

• Strong leadership and vision, with experience leading complex projects, programmes or partnership initiatives across multiple teams or sites
• A collaborative approach, building positive relationships with colleagues, external partners and other stakeholders
• A commitment to learner success, with a strong understanding of the barriers faced by disadvantaged, SEMH and care-experienced learners
• A focus on impact and improvement, using data, evaluation and insight to shape decision-making and demonstrate outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence people at all levels
• Knowledge of transition, attendance and retention, particularly for 16-19 learners
• A strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding, with an understanding of trauma-informed, learner-centred practice
• Sound organisational and financial skills, including experience of budget management, reporting or quality assurance
