Job summary

Know How Resourcing is seeking an experienced Transformer Engineer with supervisory experience to lead the installation, testing and commissioning of distribution transformers and package substations across customer sites in the UK, with occasional European travel.

You will coordinate engineering teams, review drawings, and troubleshoot installation issues while maintaining high safety and quality standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising site engineering activities in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Experience with transformer installation and package substations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation, fitting, wiring and testing of transformers and substations.
• Oversee daily site activities, ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate labour and resources across UK sites.
• Review drawings, schematics and parts lists to plan work.
• Ensure availability of parts, tools and materials for site installation.
• Provide hands-on technical support when needed.
• Supervise testing, commissioning and inspections before handover.
• Oversee warranty investigations and rectification work.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK and Europe to oversee activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and project teams.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
