Job summary

Sandwell Council is seeking a motivated Transformation Officer to join the Corporate Transformation team for a 12-month secondment. The role focuses on reviewing services, identifying improvement opportunities and delivering transformational change programmes that benefit residents and communities.

You will engage with managers and staff, facilitate workshops, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering business change and transformation initiatives in a complex organisation.
• Project or programme management experience with delivering outcomes to tight timescales.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with ability to influence and build relationships.
• Experience facilitating workshops, consultations and employee engagement activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to research and analyse complex information.
• Knowledge of change management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly in speech and writing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support business change, transformation and service improvement projects across the council.
• Undertake research, analysis and process reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the council and partner organisations.
• Facilitate workshops, employee consultations and engagement activities to support change programmes.
• Produce reports, briefings and presentations for a range of audiences.
• Support planning, implementation and evaluation of transformation programmes and projects.
• Provide coaching to managers and teams on change management approaches and best practice.
• Work with colleagues to embed a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Support identification and implementation of technology, systems and process improvements.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development and organisational improvement.
