Job summary

RELX (UK) Limited is seeking a Transformation Director (Data Science) in London to lead a major data science transformation portfolio. You will govern delivery standards, run governance cadences, and report to senior leadership with a clear, concise view of risk and progress.

The role requires a strong data science or ML background, extensive programme governance experience, and the ability to craft robust business cases for future investment.

Qualifications

• Data science, ML, or AI engineering background with hands-on delivery experience or governance of data science work.
• Experience running portfolio, programme, or transformation governance in a complex technical organisation.
• Experience producing and presenting reporting to senior/executive audiences.
• Strong grounding in programme management methods (MSP, PRINCE2, P3O, Agile/SAFe or equivalent).
• Experience building or contributing to business cases, including benefits and financial modelling.
• Sharp analytical and written communication skills; able to distil complexity into clear messages.
• Confidence to influence without relying on formal authority.
• Eligible for right to work in the UK or Skilled Worker sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern a multi-workstream transformation within the Data Science function.
• Own reporting materials and governance cadences for senior leadership.
• Identify overlaps, conflicts and dependencies across the change portfolio.
• Shape robust business cases for future investments and run end-to-end governance forums.
