Job summary

BCP Council is seeking an Experts at Hand Transformation Specialist on a 14-month fixed-term basis. Starting salary is £45,529, pro rata for part-time staff, with a clear pay band and opportunities for progression.

The role focuses on SEND reform, data tooling, and in-house reporting development within Education and Skills. You will develop trusted datasets, semantic models and user-friendly dashboards, training analysts and expanding reporting for Inclusion and Alternative Provision.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Ability to develop trusted datasets and semantic models.
• Experience presenting findings in reports to support decision making.
• Ability to plan and deliver work and manage priorities.
• Experience mentoring others to build technical capability.

Responsibilities

• Review existing Education and Skills reporting datasets and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Clean, transform and prepare data into trusted gold layer datasets.
• Build semantic models to support EXperts at Hand, Inclusion and Alternative Provision reporting.
• Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards for operational and strategic oversight.
• Develop digital tools for Experts at Hand, Inclusion and Alternative Provision.
• Expand Inclusion reporting to cover permanent exclusions, suspensions and attendance.
• Support development of Alternative Provision reporting within the Education and Skills reporting app.
• Train, mentor and support team members to strengthen in-house reporting skills.
