Job summary

Gateshead Council is hiring for a Fixed Term Contract (12 months) in the SEND improvement programme. You will work with senior leaders, education professionals and external partners to deliver key change initiatives across SEND services.

You will support reporting to the Department for Education, help manage workstreams and deliver outcomes on time and within budget. The role offers flexi-time and hybrid working, with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering projects and programmes.
• Strong partnership-working and relationship management.
• Excellent organisational skills with multiple priorities.
• Clear written and verbal communication for reports and presentations.
• Experience facilitating meetings or workshops.
• Understanding of inspection frameworks and local Thrive Agenda.
• A Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of SEND reforms and reporting to DfE.
• Facilitate workstreams and ensure timely, budgeted delivery.
• Provide programme management support to teams and partners.
• Develop implementation plans and supporting materials.
• Plan meetings, conferences and stakeholder events.
• Monitor progress and produce performance reports.
