Job summary

Bournemouth Borough Council is seeking an Expert at Hand Transformation Specialist to support SEND reform through data transformation, semantic modeling and Power BI reporting. The role collaborates with Education and Skills teams to deliver trusted datasets and actionable insights.

You will develop dashboards, train colleagues, and help drive operational and strategic decisions. The fixed-term contract runs until 30 September 2027, with pro rata considerations for part-time workers.

Qualifications

• Degree or work experience relevant to the service area.
• Advanced knowledge of Fabric and Power BI.
• Experience with education, inclusion or children’s services data is helpful.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders; present information effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review Education and Skills reporting datasets and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Clean, transform and prepare data into trusted gold layer datasets.
• Build semantic models to support Experts at Hand, Inclusion and Alternative Provision reporting.
• Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards for operation and strategy oversight.
• Develop digital tools for Experts at Hand and Inclusion reporting; translate needs into solutions.
• Train, mentor and support team members to strengthen internal skills in Fabric, T-SQL and Power BI.
