Job summary

White Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Chemist for a busy hazardous waste treatment facility in the Northwich area. You will assess, accept and manage hazardous waste streams, ensuring compliance with permits and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities include sampling, classification, documentation and coordinating with operations to maintain safe site practices. A chemistry or environmental science degree and experience in hazardous waste are essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or another relevant scientific discipline.
• Previous experience as Site Chemist, Technical Assessor or Hazardous Waste Chemist.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous waste classification and waste acceptance procedures.
• Understanding of environmental legislation and Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
• A forklift licence would be advantageous, training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health & safety and environmental compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Working at a busy hazardous waste treatment facility, you’ll play a key role in ensuring waste is assessed, handled and processed safely and compliantly, while supporting operational excellence across the site.

The Role

As a Site Chemist, you’ll be responsible for the technical assessment, acceptance and management of hazardous waste streams, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and in line with environmental legislation and site permits.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have experience working within hazardous waste, treatment, transfer or industrial services environments.

Ideally you’ll have:

• A degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or another relevant scientific discipline.
