Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Training Solution Architect to lead integration of submarine training systems, courseware and devices. The role supports the UK MOD ITS program, coordinating across suppliers, customers and end users, with a focus on secure, auditable handovers.

Primarily home-based with travel to meetings; BPSS and SC clearance is required or obtainable. You will work within the Training Coherence Team to ensure coherent training pipelines and effective deployment of training

Qualifications

• Recent experience with operation of and training of complex submarine systems.
• Experience implementing integration projects in defence.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Defence training systems.
• Experience working across security classifications and delivering Secure by Design solutions.
• Ability to form effective relationships with stakeholders and manage configuration processes.

Raytheon UK has an excellent opportunity for a Training Solution Architect to join our team. As a Training Solution Architect (TSA), you will provide specialist expertise in submarine systems to support the development, integration, installation, and commissioning of the UK MOD's Integrated Training Solution (ITS). Working within the Training Coherence Team, you will ensure the seamless integration of new courseware and training devices with existing training media, creating a coherent individual training pipeline. Collaborating with the Engineering Integration Manager, you will support the delivery and alignment of courseware, media, and training systems. The role involves coordinating the integration of complex hardware, software, and courseware solutions across multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and MOD end users. This will be achieved through the development and execution of integration strategies and plans, effective risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and the successful transition of training capabilities to realise operational and business benefits. Primarily home-based but must be prepared to travel to support internal and customer meetings and duties. You must either currently hold or be eligible and willing to gain BPSS and SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identification of issues that will impact on the delivery of training systems into the training environment.
• Developing the solutions required to eliminate or minimise the potential impact of those issues.
• Liaise with range of functional specialists to identify training system element requirements that will need integrating on site.
• Develop effective working relationships with key external stakeholders.
• Oversee the integration of the course elements, devices and courseware from early within the development life cycle through delivery to finally installation and commissioning.
• Act as the project’s subject matter expert and point of contact on the installation and commissioning and hand over of the devices to support project delivery requirements.
• Ensure successful Hand Over through in depth understanding of the acceptance criteria and delivery of all required artefacts including but not limited to Transition to Service Plans, Operation Manuals, Training Guides etc.
• Work closely with the Information Assurance and Safety & Environmental Engineering Leads to ensure that all requirements of the devices, both current and future, are met.
• Work closely with Courseware and Media Developers to ensure that all external requirements of the courseware development team, both current and future, are met.
• Work closely with Security representatives (physical and electronic) to ensure compliance with existing regulations on handling and storage of protected materials.
• Provide regular reporting against developed metrics to ensure confidence in the integration activities and successful hand over to the customer and end-users

Required Skills & Experience

• Recent experience in the operation of and training of complex submarine systems.
• Experience implementing integration projects.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Defence training systems
• Problem analysis and resolution in a secure environment.
• Experience working across all security classifications and delivery of solutions delivered through the Secure by Design principles.
• Ability to quickly form effective working relationships with all stakeholders required.
• Configuration management processes and systems.
• Possess, or be capable of obtaining, Security Clearance.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Managing projects, tasks and deliverables with protective markings or other special handling restrictions.
• Knowledge of or experience with Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA)
• Experience with Atlassian suite, working with Jira and Confluence.
• Awareness of NAFv4 and/or TOGAF.
• Experience of training devices.
