Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a CMDC Training Capability Lead to manage and coordinate Royal Navy capabilities, with a DSAT-based framework and agile-style workshops. The role supports training design and development across multiple streams, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

The position requires strong stakeholder communication, DSAT/ADDIE understanding, and ability to plan and balance workload in a hybrid working environment with security clearances.

Qualifications

  • Communication with stakeholders outside of the training development team to gather technical information.
  • Awareness of DSAT (JSP 822) and ADDIE principles and their application to training design and development.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and quality assure multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Experienced and capable of working autonomously and within a team.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical and non-technical information and apply it to training design.
  • Ensure training designs align with internal quality standards.
  • Must be organised and work well both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • SC security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate Royal Navy capabilities derived from a Training Needs Analysis and ensure DSAT-aligned artifacts are delivered on time and meet standards.
  • Facilitate and collaborate with other team leads during Workshops.
  • Translate customer requirements and changes into tasks for the Course Proposal and maintain the team backlog and schedule.
  • Allocate detailed work packages, set priorities, and monitor progress against schedule and assessment criteria.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on DSAT methodology, analysis techniques, and design standards.
  • Ensure outputs adhere to JSP 822, DSAT principles, and documentation standards.
  • Conduct regular Duty reviews to ensure quality and compliance, supporting performance management and forecasting.
  • Escalate technical or procedural issues and communicate risks to the Training Design Manager.

Work Culture

37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements. Early 1.30pm finish Friday, start your weekend early! Remote, hybrid and site based working opportunities, dependant on your needs and the requirements of the role. Up to 5 paid days volunteering each year. Responsibilities
  • To manage and coordinate Royal Navy capabilities consisting of multiple Duties derived from a Training Needs Analysis, to ensure the DSAT-aligned artifacts are delivered on time, are technically accurate, and meet both the Royal Navy’s requirements and RUK quality standards.
  • Facilitate and work collaboratively with other team leads during Workshops.
  • Translate customer requirements and programme changes into clear tasks to be included within the Course Proposal and to deliver and maintain the team’s backlog and schedule of work.
  • Allocate detailed and accurate work packages, set priorities, and monitor progress against schedule, quality, and assessment criteria, ensuring there is support to resource forecasting, workload balancing, and prioritisation of critical tasks.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on DSAT methodology, analysis techniques, and agreed upon design standards.
  • Ensure all outputs adhere to JSP 822, DSAT principles, and the programme’s documentation standards.
  • Conduct regular Duty reviews to ensure output quality, accuracy, and compliance, while supporting individual performance management, development planning, and resource forecasting.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for technical or procedural issues, including identification of Technical Debt and Training Gaps, communicating status, risks, and dependencies to the Training Design Manager for discussion with stakeholders and inclusion on the Risk Register.
  • Validate that learning outcomes and training solutions align with operational requirements and Royal Navy role competencies.
  • Represent the training design function at technical reviews, progress meetings, and design boards.
  • Provide input to monthly progress reports, metrics, and performance summaries.
Required experience
