Job description

Training Programme Director for Immunology (London)

An outstanding individual is sought to fulfill the role of Training Programme Director for Immunology in London.

The Training Programme Director will work with the Postgraduate Dean to lead the delivery of functions within their specialty, aligned with the NHS England mandate. The role involves ensuring compliance with national standards set by the Royal College and guidelines established within Immunology.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Head of School, other Pathology TPDs, the LaSE team (including the PGMDE Business Manager), the Postgraduate Dean, and other key departments such as Quality.

They will work with the Postgraduate Dean to develop doctors committed to high standards of patient-centered care and lifelong professional development.

Main duties of the job

The Programme Director's responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the Specialty's Regional Training Programme
  • Addressing specialty-specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns
  • Recruitment to training posts and programmes
  • Managing postgraduate programmes, including assessments, progression, rotations, support, remediation, OOP management, trainee management, career support, less than full-time training, inter-deanery transfer, academic training, and related workstreams.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with thorough understanding of Immunology training across the region, possessing strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-professional team.

Salary depends on experience, in line with TPD sessional payments.
