About Us

Deafway is a charitable organisation which supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing people both within the community and residential. We have a 34-bed care home providing specialist support for Deaf residents, offering a supportive and inclusive environment. Our staff require training that develops them both professionally and personally with the aim to always enhance the services we provide.

Job Type: Full-time – 36.25 hours per week. Primarily Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service, which may occasionally include weekend or evening work.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a training or educational role within the healthcare or social care industry.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of care practices, regulations, and standards.

Purpose Of The Job

  • Coordinate the provision of high-quality training that meets the needs of staff.
  • Support the development and delivery of high-quality training programmes.
  • The service provided will be in accordance with legislation, the CQC Fundamental Standards, national guidance, organisational procedures and protocols, quality assurance targets and timescales.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing staff. This will include the use of E-Learning, face-to-face and externally delivered solutions.
  • Conduct training needs analysis through surveys, interviews, performance evaluations and training meetings with department heads.
  • Create and update training materials, manuals, and resources.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Develop tailored training plans to address specific skill gaps and to target professional development to support in staff succession planning.
  • Adapt training programmes to meet regulatory requirements and organisational needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide ongoing training support and mentorship to staff.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.
  • Manage the E-Learning Platform, ensuring all training materials are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Oversee the induction programmes for all new starters, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with external training providers to identify both training and professional development opportunities.
  • Utilize the apprenticeship programme, currently in partnership with Independent Training Services.
  • Communicate training schedules, updated and requirements effectively to all staff.
  • Implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of training programmes.
  • Produce monthly training statistics.
