Role: Technical Assessor - Hazardous Waste Management

Client: A leader in hazardous waste management, operating a state-of-the-art treatment facility, is seeking a desk-based Technical Assessor to join their dynamic team, serving a wide range of clients.

Package: Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Role Overview:

• Utilize your Chemistry expertise to assess incoming waste streams based on sales team data.
• Accurately classify waste and calculate disposal costs, applying essential WM3 code knowledge.
• Perform desk-based analysis, leveraging theoretical Chemistry knowledge (no lab work required).
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver customized solutions.

Experience & Requirements:

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ideally, experience in client-facing roles.
• Minimum HNC in Chemistry (or higher); Biology or Forensics may be considered with sufficient Chemistry modules above HNC level.
• At least 1 year of experience in heavy industry or hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of relevant sectors, including hazardous waste (e.g., drummed, bulky, chemical, radioactive, acids, solvents, nuclear, toxic, oily rags, paints, liquids, sludge, flammable) or soil treatment.
