Job description

Excellent opportunity for a highly organised, proactive Coordinator looking to develop their career, gain commercial exposure and take real responsibility within a growing Learning and Training function in a brilliantly regarded Professional Body at the heart of financial services sector.

Working as part of an entrepreneurial Learning team within the dynamism of financial services, you'll be key to the delivery of programmes that are important not only to the industry, but also to the organisation's wider commercial offering. It's a role where you'll learn a lot, get involved, solve problems and have the opportunity to make your mark.

You could be a proactive Grad with some work experience, or already have 1-3 years experience within an admin/customer focused role, ideally within the learning, training or events sector, and keen to get your foot in the door with a highly regarded organisation with great opportunities.

About the organisation

You'll be joining the leading industry association for financial services in the UK, its members include many of the leading names in banking and financial services, giving the organisation a unique position at the heart of the industry. It's training and learning offering is hugely regarded within the sector, both for its existing offering, but also for its continuous development and responsiveness to the needs of the sector.

This means you'll be working within an organisation with genuine reach, influence and exposure across financial services, while gaining insight into how a commercial training offering supports both the industry and the organisation itself.

The Team

The Learning team sits within Commercial Operations, alongside Events and Sponsorship/Partnerships. Learning has become increasingly important and visible within the organisation and is currently going through an exciting period of growth and development.

It's a close-knit team with an entrepreneurial feel, developing new products and approaches to learning and growing its offering. There is a real sense of energy and momentum, making this a particularly good time to join. They're looking to bring on someone who fits this profile and who would be keen to make the most of the opportunity offered.

The Role

You'll be in a team of 6, whose overall aim is to develop, deliver and continuously improve and grow their industry leading training offering to the sector. As Training Coordinator, you'll specifically be at the heart of the day-to-day delivery of the training offering itself - at the coal face as it were.

At the centre of this sits their Learning Management System (LMS) - and you'll play an important role in keeping the whole operation running smoothly. You'll coordinate the activity around the LMS, make sure courses and programmes are set up correctly, keep an eye on what is happening, support users, troubleshoot issues and make sure anything that needs resolving is taken forward. The role will be varied.

You'll be the person who hears the issues, responds to members, and takes things forward.

You'll also support the practical delivery of public workshops and in-house training, working with trainers, clients and colleagues to ensure everything happens smoothly.

But this isn't simply about keeping on top of a list of administrative tasks.

You'll need to notice when something isn't working, get to the bottom of why, and take responsibility for getting it sorted. You might resolve an individual user query, but you'll also be expected to spot recurring issues or patterns and recognise when something needs to be addressed more widely.

It's a great role for someone who enjoys the detail but also likes to step back and see the bigger picture - someone who can do the essential day-to-day coordination, while constantly looking at what could work better and how to take it forward.

You:

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and keen to learn, with the confidence and enthusiasm to get involved and take responsibility. Great admin and communication skills are essential, combined with a proactive approach to your work, and interest in being part of a wider objective. You could be a proactive Grad with some work experience, or already have 1-3 years experience within an admin/customer focused role, ideally within the learning, training or events sector.

Specifically you'll bring:
  • Previous work experience which has allowed you to develop the following:
  • Experience of Learning Management Systems, would be advantageous.
  • Strong proven administrative skills, with an awareness of project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keenness to understand and learn, with the curiosity to get to grips with new systems and processes
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership and looking for ways to move things forward
  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build relationships across the organisation
  • The ability to work independently and know when to ask for help
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work well with others
  • A flexible and accommodating attitude, with the willingness to welcome responsibility
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Dynamics

You’ll also need to be confident and comfortable working with people across the organisation. The team is looking for someone who is a natural collaborator, happy to get involved, build relationships and be visible within the wider organisation.

Why this role?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial team at an exciting time. While initially a six month contract there are likely opportunities to follow.

You'll see first-hand how a commercial training offering works - from the systems and processes behind the scenes, through to the experience of clients and learners - and understand why learning is becoming such an important part of the proposition.

You'll also be joining a supportive team where there is plenty happening, lots to learn and genuine scope to get involved, take responsibility and make a difference.

If you're organised, great admin and communication skills, proactive, curious and ready to take ownership, this is a great opportunity to build your career in a role where you can genuinely see the impact of what you do.

£32,000 | Initial 6-month contract | Hybrid - 2 days in the office | Excellent benefits, with likely excellent opportunities beyond the initial contract.
