Caterpillar Peterlee offers a trainee welder program focused on world-class welding training at the Peterlee facility. Successful candidates will undergo eight weeks of intensive welding theory and hands-on training at East Durham College, then join the Peterlee operations team.
Applicants must be 19 or older by 1 August 2026 and reside in the catchment areas. Prior welding experience helps, but motivation and eagerness to learn are highly valued as you progress through three-shift patterns

Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat Articulated Trucks, currently producing 7 variants used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and a state-of-the-art paint plant.
We are looking to place, train and develop trainee welders. The successful candidates will be trained to meet the facilities specific welding needs.
Previous experience in a welding environment would be an advantage.
