Job summary

ITV is seeking a Vision Operator to work alongside Senior Vision Engineers and report to the Vision Lead and Technical Manager. You will learn to deliver exposed and colour-balanced images aligned with the Lighting Director's vision, and you will operate video servers and ingest devices while assessing video and audio quality.

The role requires interest in photography/lighting, strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate an interest in photography, videography or lighting for cameras.
  • Must have a critical approach to picture quality and an appreciation and understanding of studio lighting.
  • An ability to qualitatively assess and correct the colourimetry of video images.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Windows and other operating systems.
  • Some knowledge of IP networks as applied to studio and location for audio/video signals and control systems.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with all departments, Including cast and crew.
  • Maintain confidentiality of important production information/details.
  • Experience within a technical role desirable e.g. Technical Assistant.
  • Ability to work individually and part of a team , when required

  • Work in a fast paced environment, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to develop good working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills to become a well rounded Vision Operator that can perform independently and deliver carefully exposed and colour balanced images.
  • Operate video servers and ingest devices and technically assess the visual and audio quality.
  • Communicate with all departments, including cast and crew, and maintain confidentiality of production information.
  • Work within the TV industry, continuing drama, and collaborate with the Lighting Directors team.
