Job summary

ITV in Manchester is seeking a Vision Operator trainee to manage picture quality and high-quality outputs for studio and location shoots, including Coronation Street. You will work with Senior Vision Engineers and report to the Vision Lead and Technical Manager to develop technical and artistic skills.

The role requires evaluating colourimetry, operating video servers, and ensuring accurate exposure and balance.

Qualifications

• Must have a critical approach to picture quality and an appreciation and understanding of studio lighting.
• An ability to qualitatively assess and correct the colourimetry of video images.
• Computer literate with a good understanding of Windows and other operating systems.
• Some knowledge of IP networks as applied to studio and location for audio/video signals and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Train to be responsible for picture quality and acquisition of high quality output in studio and location shoots for Coronation Street.
• Work alongside Senior Vision Engineers and report to the Vision Lead and Technical Manager.
• Develop skills to become a Vision Operator who can deliver exposed and colour balanced images in line with the Lighting Director’s vision.
• Operate video servers and ingest devices and assess visual and audio quality.
