Job summary

Simply Jobsworth in Dudley is seeking a Trainee Upholstery Operative to learn a skilled trade within a growing manufacturing environment. No prior upholstery experience required; full training will be provided, with an emphasis on reliability, practicality, and a strong work ethic.

The role offers full-time hours (6am–3pm, 45 hours/week) and a clear path to develop skills in upholstery and manufacturing. Pay will be discussed at interview, with minimum wage applied.

Responsibilities

• Learn upholstery techniques and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and cut upholstery materials.
• Use hand tools and upholstery equipment.
• Measure materials accurately and work to specifications.
• Assist experienced upholsterers with day-to-day production.
• Check finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.
• Follow company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Work as part of a busy production team.
• Develop skills and knowledge with full training and support.
