Charlie Bigham's Quarry Kitchen in Dulcote near Wells is seeking a Trainee Team Leader to join the Warehouse Operations team on a maternity cover basis. The role offers a competitive hourly rate (£18.79) with a salary equivalent around £33k+ per year, plus a quarterly bonus and four days off every week.

The position involves leading daily plans, supporting a fast-paced chilled environment, and developing staff through coaching and training.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse/logistics experience.
• Ready to take the next step into leadership.
• Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident in a fast-paced, team-focused setting.
• Forklift or reach truck licence is desirable; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead your area to deliver daily plans safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Set the tone each shift with clear, engaging team briefs.
• Manage labour, breaks, and holidays to optimise performance.
• Maintain high standards in quality, GMP, 5S, and Health & Safety.
• Act quickly to resolve issues, escalating risks to minimise disruption.
• Drive team engagement, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure accurate reporting, data capture, and operational communication.
• Support team development through training, coaching, and performance reviews.
