Job summary

Vision for Education is launching a National Teaching Assistant Programme across Midlands schools, offering paid on-the-job experience after a successful interview and safeguarding checks. You will train with ABC Teachers and secure a paid placement to develop teaching assistant skills in primary, secondary or SEND provisions.

You will be supported by a dedicated consultant throughout the placement, with ongoing CPD and the chance to choose your preferred school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, young people or adults with SEND is ideal.
• Be passionate and driven about improving outcomes for children.
• Understand safeguarding and keeping children safe.
• Commit to completing required training and ongoing CPD.
• Willing to pay for Enhanced DBS check and register with Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with managing behaviour and supporting interventions.
• Provide additional support to children with SEND where needed.
• Record and report pupil progress and behaviour to help track progress.
• Support schools in ensuring children make good progress in the classroom.
