Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is recruiting a trainee Surgical Care Practitioner to develop towards advanced practice in colorectal, HPB and upper GI surgery. The role spans perioperative care, clinics, wards and theatres, including laparoscopic, robotic and open techniques.

The successful candidate will work under supervision, gain autonomous decision-making as competence grows, and complete an MSc with progression to Band 8A on satisfactory completion of specialty

Qualifications

Experienced registered healthcare professional.
Must demonstrate core capabilities and specialty clinical competence.
Complete a recognised independent prescribing qualification and have annotation on professional register.

Responsibilities

Coordinate care across the surgical pathway with multidisciplinary teams and services.
Be accountable for own actions under professional regulatory guidelines.
Lead and deliver clinical care across settings, following national and local guidelines.
Undertake initial assessments to determine differential diagnoses and refer when needed.
Progress development during training towards Band 8A on MSc completion.
