Job summary

Reliance High-Tech is seeking a Trainee Small Works Installation Engineer to support delivery of small works projects across the South and cities beyond. You will work with the Installation Engineer and Project Delivery Manager to install to the highest standards and ensure compliant delivery, with opportunities to learn and grow in security systems.

The role emphasizes developing IT and security discipline knowledge, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electronic security disciplines and strong IT skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install small works projects for customers based on the proposed solution by the delivery team.
• Collaborate with the Installation Engineer and Project Delivery Manager to deliver small works to high standards with compliant delivery.
• Learn and develop skills to offer an end-to-end solution tailored to customer requirements.
• Provide second line engineering support on Access Control, CCTV, Intercom and Intruder Alarm design, installation, commissioning and occasional maintenance (on site or remotely).
• Maintain a positive, proactive attitude and work to succeed within the small works team.
• Foster relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors to support profitable contract execution and future servicing.

Your Role

Working in Small Works and alongside the Installation engineer and Project Delivery Manager to install and deliver small works projects in the City and south of the country. The working area extends from Northampton across the home counties and south of the country. Build effective relationships with all parties, including internal and external stakeholders to assist in the profitable installation of small works jobs. The role may require overnight stays away from home where necessary.

You will be working within a motivated and target driven team who work together to deliver the best security solution based on our client’s requirements to the highest standards possible while focusing on teamwork and profitability.

Responsibilities

• To install small works projects for our customers based on the solution that has been proposed by our delivery team.
• Working alongside the Installation Engineer and the Project Delivery Manager on the delivery of small works projects and ensuring the projects are installed to the highest standards and the correct compliance level with the most effective and efficient delivery model.
• You will be keen to learn and develop your skills so that small works can offer an end-to-end solution to our customers specific requirements.
• Providing second line engineering support on Access Control, CCTV, Intercom and Intruder Alarms system design. Installation, commissioning and occasionally maintenance either in person or remotely.
• A positive attitude and outlook, with a determination to succeed is the corner stone of the small works team and will be an attribute you will need to share and display.
• Learning to maintaining effective relationships with all parties, including client stakeholders at all levels, consultants, main contractors and sub-contractors, to assist in the profitable running of existing contracts and the servicing of future contracts.

Your Experience

• To meet the challenge, some knowledge of electronic security disciplines alongside strong I.T. skills would be advantageous.
• You will have excellent organisational skills and be a team player, willing to learn and take ownership of issues with attention to detail being at the heart of everything you do.
• The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines is an advantage and the ability to prioritise your workload is very important.

Your Qualifications

• You will have good communication and documentation skills.
• You are passionate about developing a career in our industry and understanding the technologies we use and most importantly, serving our customers.
• Team-orientated.
• Self-motivating and success driven.

Desirable

• Previous experience installing CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Systems.

Your Aptitudes & Behaviours

• To meet the challenge, you need to have the desire to learn about all electronic security disciplines as well as developing strong I.T. skills.
• The right candidate will demonstrate a desire to learn about a vast range of enterprise level Access Control, CCTV, Intruder and Intercom as well as a comprehensive range of associated software and contribute with this knowledge and skills to the successful delivery of RHT’s small works projects.
• I.T. skill sets will develop to include confidence and experience in Operating Systems, Networks, and Database technologies.
• You will have excellent organisational skills and be a team player, willing to learn and take ownership of issues with attention to detail being at the heart of everything you do.
• The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines is an advantage and the ability to prioritise your workload is very important.
