Job description

At Sureserve Energy Services UK, excellence is not just an expectation; it's our standard. With a driven team of nearly 800 professionals, we are at the forefront of providing stellar asset and energy services across the UK. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to elevate the quality of life in the communities we serve by innovating and improving the spaces where people reside, work, and gather.

Put your potential to work as a Trainee Retrofit Coordinator at our office in Livingston. With our expert guidance and hands-on support in the energy efficiency sector, you can develop into a fully qualified Retrofit Coordinator-confidently leading projects across publicly funded frameworks and help to transform homes across Scotland for a more sustainable future.

We invest in your success from day one. Through structured training, mentorship, and real project exposure, you’ll gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in the role and build a long-term career in a growing, purpose-driven industry.

Key tasks and activities:
  • Liaise closely with Retrofit Assessors, Coordinators, and the wider Energy Efficiency team, supporting the preparation and management of documentation and evidence for each project to ensure full compliance with PAS2035 standards.
  • Collaborate with Retrofit Coordinators to deliver sustainable domestic energy efficiency improvements across a range of property types and project scopes.
  • Support the identification and selection of the most effective and commercially viable retrofit measures for each property.
  • Ensure all recommendations are aligned to deliver:
    • Maximum fuel bill savings for customers and clients
    • Improved energy performance of homes and buildings
    • Reduced carbon emissions and environmental impact, supporting our journey to Net Zero
Required skill set and experience:
  • A proactive and motivated approach, with a genuine willingness to learn and develop. Strong organisational, coordination, and administrative skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience within a construction or energy efficiency environment would be beneficial, providing a helpful foundation in understanding retrofit projects and compliance requirements—however, this is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • A clear passion for sustainability, energy efficiency, and renewables, with a desire to play a meaningful role in improving homes, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work methodically, ensuring all documentation and processes meet required standards.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders.
