Job summary

VolkerHighways is seeking a motivated Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the successful commercial delivery of highway and infrastructure projects while developing your technical and professional skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently studying towards a construction-related qualification and looking to build a career in quantity surveying within a leading infrastructure business.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a construction-related qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with subcontract procurement and tender evaluations.
• Support the preparation of subcontract documentation and payment applications.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
• Assist with monthly reporting, cost tracking and forecasting.
• Support the preparation of client valuations and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor project risks and escalated issues where appropriate.
• Assist with the commercial delivery of highway and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with measurement, reporting and subcontractor account management.
• Develop knowledge of contracts, costs and project performance.
• Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor engagement.
• Support supplier and subcontractor management throughout project delivery.
