Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor in Leicester to kickstart a career in highways and civil engineering. You will work with the commercial team on major projects across Midlands Areas 7 and 9, gaining hands‑on experience with NEC contracts and cost management.

Join a supportive team to develop commercial skills alongside senior Quantity Surveyors, project teams and operations, while travelling to multiple sites and building a career in infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Interest in highways, civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Good numerical and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly cost and value reconciliations.
• Help monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Assist with quotations, variations and compensation events.
• Support applications for payment and final accounts.
• Help manage subcontractor accounts, orders and payments.
• Travel to different project sites as required across Areas 7 and 9.
