Job summary

Thomas Gray Ltd is seeking a Trainee Quantity Surveyor for its Milton Keynes-based team. The role offers hands-on mentoring from an experienced Quantity Surveyor and exposure to all commercial processes. You will start with administrative tasks and progress to managing live projects as you gain experience.

Ideal candidates have up to one year in a Trainee QS role or a construction admin background, are IT savvy, and have a keen eye for detail. A UK driving licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Trainee Quantity Surveyor role (up to one year) or a construction administration background.
• Highly IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the commercial team.
• Assist with subcontractor enquiries, quotations and procurement.
• Help prepare valuations, cost reports and commercial documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records and commercial files.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in Quantity Surveying. Whether you have up to a year's experience in a Trainee QS role or come from a strong construction administration background, this company is looking for someone who is highly organised, IT savvy and eager to learn.

Working within a close-knit commercial team of three, you will receive hands-on mentoring and training from an experienced Quantity Surveyor, gaining exposure to all aspects of the commercial process. As your experience develops, you will progress into managing your own live projects.
