Matalan is seeking a Trainee Product Technologist to support the development of products in line with Quality Assurance Standards. You will work with technologists, buying and design teams, and suppliers to ensure products meet customer expectations.

In this role you will develop expertise in sealing and testing, flag quality risks early, and participate in training to broaden knowledge across product categories, with strong focus on store visits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or degree in Fashion, Garment Construction & Quality or equivalent.
• Strong communicator who can tailor to different audiences.
• Seeks opportunities to develop knowledge and personal growth.
• Provides feedback in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.

Responsabilités

• Support delivery of compliant products meeting Matalan standards.
• Build capability in sealing and testing requirements to approve test reports.
• Identify quality risks early.
• Investigate quality issues with senior team to define root causes and corrective actions.
• Understand quality standards across retail markets to ensure fit for purpose.
• Utilise digital quality systems to improve efficiency.
• Conduct regular store visits to verify product quality.
• Monitor competitor quality benchmarks to drive improvements.
• Participate in technical training to broaden knowledge across categories.
