Job summary

Matalan in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Manager to provide strategic leadership to the quality team, collaborating with Buying, Design and stakeholders to embed a consistent end-to-end quality process across the full product lifecycle.

You will own the quality strategy, drive performance, manage critical-path milestones, and champion a right-first-time culture, while developing testing standards and ensuring compliance and sustainability with other Technical Managers.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in product/fabric technology or quality management within retail or supplier environments.
• Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of compliance regulations and product safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to drive supplier engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the quality strategy for the relevant category, ensuring capability and performance.
• Lead critical path management within the quality team to meet deadlines and SLAs.
• Build partnerships with Buying and Design to embed quality and compliance across decisions.
