Job summary

Reiss is seeking a Trainee Product Developer to support the Product Development team through the full lifecycle, from sourcing fabrics to final samples and seasonal buys. You will build knowledge of supplier processes, costing, and product development while coordinating with Design, Buying and Technical teams.

You'll develop hands-on experience across fabrics, yarns, prints and garments, manage trackers and costings, and help maintain on-time delivery and quality across partnerships.

Qualifications

• Some experience or understanding of product, garment, fabric or supplier processes.
• Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to keep trackers, systems and product information accurate and up to date.
• Proactive and persistent, with the confidence to follow up with suppliers and internal teams to move development.
• Clear and confident communicator who can build relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Commercial awareness with interest in costing, margin and impact on price, quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the Product Development team with sourcing and development of fabrics, yarns, prints and garments, including cross-sourcing key fabrics.
• Send tech packs, samples and development information to suppliers, follow up on costings and support supplier routes.
• Assist Product Developers with costing activity, chasing breakdowns and identifying margin opportunities.
• Manage product development trackers and Vision, ensuring costings, prices and dates are up to date.
• Attend weekly progress meetings to support the critical path and ensure deadlines are met.
• Chase proto samples, maintain due dates, prepare priority lists for suppliers and log arrivals.
• Coordinate tech pack handovers, resolve development queries and prepare samples for seasonal buy meetings.
• Support Sustainability and wider Product teams with sustainable development, maintaining supplier relationships and quality.
