Job summary

Reiss Limited is looking for a Trainee Product Developer to assist the Product Development team across the full lifecycle, from fabrics and yarns to costing and samples. You’ll work with Design and our suppliers to manage development activity and ensure critical path updates are timely.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience in tech packs, costing, supplier relationships and sustainable product development, while supporting cross‑functional teams to deliver on seasonal deadlines.

Qualifications

• Interest in fashion product development with understanding of fabrics, garments or supplier processes.
• Very organised, detail‑oriented; able to keep trackers and product information accurate and up to date.
• Proactive and persistent; confident to follow up with suppliers and internal teams to keep development moving.
• Clear and confident communicator; able to build relationships with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
• Commercially aware with interest in costing, margin and impact on price, quality and delivery.
• Keen to learn and develop with a collaborative approach and ability to take ownership of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Development with sourcing and development of fabrics, yarns, prints, garments; cross‑source key fabrics.
• Send tech packs, samples and development information to suppliers, follow up on costings.
• Support costing activity with detailed breakdowns and margin improvement opportunities.
• Manage product development trackers and Vision; ensure costings, retail prices, tech packs and dates are accurate.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and keep development on track for seasonal deadlines.
• Chase proto samples, manage sample dates, prepare priority supplier lists, log samples on arrival.
• Coordinate tech pack handovers and samples for seasonal buy meetings.
• Support Sustainability and wider teams with sustainable product development and supplier relationships.
