Job summary

3t Training Services in Urmston, Manchester, is recruiting a Trainee Power Trainer and Assessor (Cable Jointing) on a permanent contract. The role combines training design and delivery with learner assessment across LV and 11kV cable jointing and power engineering certificates.

You will receive full support to obtain formal training qualifications. The package includes 33 days holiday, health plan, cycle‑to‑work and pension contributions. 40 hours per week, typically 7:30am–4:00pm, Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electricity distribution/transmission Cable jointing activities.
• Hold a City and Guilds Level 2 as a minimum or equivalent in a relevant subject
• Hold or have previously held authorisation for LV Jointing
• Must hold or be willing to be developed to holding a recognised assessor qualification
• Have good analytical reasoning
• Be capable of operating independently and highly organised, with the ability to prioritise your own workload
• Be an excellent verbal and written communicator
• IT literate
• Hold a full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Design high quality training packages to meet the needs of electricity industry customers.
• Deliver training in line with industry cable jointing standards and health and safety legislation.
• Ensure health and safety legislation is complied with while training at customer premises or at the training centre.
• Liaise with customers on training delivery needs.
• Maintain training equipment within specified timescales.
• Carry out assessment processes in line with award body and centre policy.
• Make assessment decisions and provide reviews as required.
• Attend standardisation and award body meetings and lead body meetings.
• Maintain records of assessments conducted and support learners throughout the learning process.
