Job summary

The Trainee Pharmacy Technician role at NHS Grampian is based within ARI Pharmacy, with a rotation through sections to gain broad experience in aseptic, radiopharmacy, ward medicines management, dispensary services and procurement. No previous hospital experience is required as training will be provided.

The post includes weekend and public holiday working. Trainees will be paid under Annex 21 terms and progress to Band 4 on qualification; ongoing support from a sociable, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Pharmacy Technician with BTec/NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences
• Must be professionally registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Desirable: Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) training available for progression
• Student Technician: National 5 or equivalent in Maths, English, Chemistry and Biology

Responsibilities

• Based at ARI Pharmacy with rotation through sections within pharmacy
• Training in aseptic, radiopharmacy, ward medicines management, dispensary services and procurement and supply
• Role includes weekend rota and public holiday working
