Job summary

IDEX Consulting Ltd. in Solihull is seeking a Trainee Paraplanner to support Financial Advisers and Paraplanners, developing technical knowledge across pensions, investments and broader financial planning.

You don't need to be an experienced Paraplanner; the role focuses on development with full training, exposure to client files, research, and progression potential into paraplanning within a supportive team.

Qualifications

Job description

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Paraplanner to join an established financial planning business in Solihull.
This role would suit someone who already has experience within IFA, financial planning or wealth management administration and is now ready to take the next step into paraplanning.
You'll work closely with experienced Financial Advisers and Paraplanners, gaining exposure to the wider financial planning process while developing the technical skills needed to build a long-term career in paraplanning.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting Financial Advisers with the preparation and progression of client cases
• Assisting with client reviews and ongoing servicing
• Gathering information and preparing client files
• Supporting financial research across pensions, investments and wider financial planning
• Assisting with suitability reports and recommendations
• Carrying out provider and product research
• Preparing valuations and client information
• Supporting new business and transfer cases
• Liaising with providers, platforms and clients
• Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring cases progress within agreed timescales
• Developing your technical knowledge across pensions, investments and wider financial planning
• Working alongside experienced Paraplanners to build your knowledge and confidence

As your knowledge and experience develops, you'll take on greater responsibility across the paraplanning function.

About You

We're looking for someone who already has a background in IFA administration, financial planning administration, wealth management or adviser support and is keen to take the next step.
You don't need to be an experienced Paraplanner. The key is that you have a genuine interest in developing into the role and are keen to build your technical knowledge.
Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience within an IFA, financial planning or wealth management environment
• An understanding of pensions, investments and financial planning administration
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
• An interest in working towards relevant CII qualifications, if not already studying
