Job summary

Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management in Grantham is seeking a Trainee Paralegal or Paralegal for its New Homes Purchase Team. The role focuses on supporting new-build purchases and routine residential conveyancing, with direct client contact and a varied caseload.

The ideal candidate may hold a Law degree and/or have relevant residential property experience. You will work under pressure to meet deadlines, deliver excellent client care, and contribute to business development across offices.

Qualifications

• Law degree
• Experience of working in a law firm in residential conveyancing
• Understanding of conveyancing procedures
• High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent and ongoing service to existing clients
• Support Partners and Fee Earners in developing new business opportunities
• Produce fee income in line with targets
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal, regulatory and practice developments
• Support Fee Earners with a caseload of conveyancing matters including new-build purchases
• Prepare and issue quotations
• Undertake property searches and assist with enquiries
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, developers and others
• Draft and prepare contract documentation and correspondence
• Assist with all stages of conveyancing including exchange and completion
• Progress files in line with deadlines
• Maintain accurate records on the case management system
• Undertake file closure procedures
• Work collaboratively within the team
• Undertake other duties as required
