Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee Orthopaedic Technician, Band 3, to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic team in the plaster room at Gloucestershire Hospital. Initial induction will cover health, safety and hygiene with a mentor, and progression to BOA casting courses.

The role emphasizes learning anatomy basics, patient communication, and safe practices while developing competency in plaster casting and device fitting. Part-time, permanent contract available.

Qualifications

• A-Levels required or equivalent.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development/training.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple activities.
• Team-based care experience desirable.
• Ability to make safe, effective decisions for patient care.
• Knowledge of stock control and resource management.
• Commitment to high standards of care and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Support trauma and orthopaedic team in plaster room duties.
• Assist in casting, removal of casts and fitting of splints.
• Answer patient queries and provide compassionate care.
• Adhere to infection control policies and PPE guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection.
