Job summary

VolkerHighways in West Sussex is recruiting a Trainee Operative to join our Traffic Management team. You will work with direct labour and sub-contract labour, help meet targets and deadlines, and gain hands-on experience in operating traffic lights and related plant.

The role suits someone with highways or reactive maintenance experience, good communication, initiative, and a willingness to work outdoors. Training is provided and a range of benefits available.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways or reactive maintenance is preferred.
• Good communication and the ability to use initiative.
• Enjoys working outdoors and outdoors-based tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate traffic lights and plant as trained, supporting direct and sub-contractor labour.
• Work with the Traffic Management team to meet targets and deadlines.
• Support in on-site activities across West Sussex depots.
