Job summary

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is seeking a Trainee CAD Technician to join the Overhead Lines team in Derby. You will produce drawings and material schedules, liaise with designers, and ensure standards are met while developing practical interpretations of design requirements.

Ideal candidates have CAD experience (MicroStation or AutoCAD), strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with good time planning. ONC or equivalent in engineering is required.

Qualifications

  • Cad experience - MicroStation or AutoCad.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
  • Capable of managing time well and planning ahead while working on multiple projects.
  • ONC or equivalent in engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

  • To comply with project and function specific standards and practices.
  • To assist in the training of junior members of staff and direct contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties.

  • Produce accurate packages with minimum of rework
  • Produce accurate and complete records

About the role

Role Purpose
  • Produce a range of Drawings and Material Schedules to the required standard first time and within time scales set.
  • To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output.
