Job summary

Citizens Advice is seeking a proactive Trainee Money Advice Caseworker to join our North Yorkshire team. You will undertake accredited training to deliver money and debt advice, handling casework, phone and email communication, and liaising with third parties on behalf of clients.

The role focuses on helping clients maximise income and resolve financial difficulties, requiring organisation, motivation and sensitivity in interviewing clients.

In this vital role, you'll undertake accredited training to deliver money and debt advice through casework, phone and email and liaise with third parties on behalf of clients. A key focus will be supporting clients to maximise their income, for example by claiming appropriate benefits and helping them resolve financial difficulties.

You'll need to be organised, motivated and able to manage a varied caseload while meeting targets and deadlines. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of interviewing clients sensitively and maintaining accurate, detailed case records. You should also be comfortable learning independently, seeking support when needed and applying new knowledge to your work.

The role is based at your preferred North Yorkshire office: Harrogate, Malton, Northallerton, Richmond, Scarborough or Selby.
