Job summary

INDEDU is offering a Trainee Maths Teacher position in Sutton, Outer London, through a school-based Initial Teacher Training programme. The role provides structured training, mentoring from experienced Maths specialists, and a progression toward Qualified Teacher Status.

You will train while teaching and gradually take responsibility for classes. The successful candidate will hold a Maths-related degree from a top university, with First-Class honours or a strong 2:1, and excellent GCSE/A-Level

The ITT Trainee Role

As a Trainee Maths Teacher, you will work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while receiving structured training, coaching, and mentoring from experienced teachers and school leaders.

Throughout the programme, you will gradually develop responsibility for teaching classes while receiving ongoing support and professional guidance.

Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Degree from Oxford, Cambridge, or a Russell Group University.
  • A First-Class Honours Degree or strong 2:1.
  • Degree in Mathematics or a Maths-related discipline, including Physics, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Excellent GCSE and A-Level results.
  • Strong subject knowledge and academic credibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and Mathematics.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young people.
Desirable
  • Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or working with young people.
